Position summary:
The Assistant Township Manage (ATM) is an executive-level position, reporting directly to the Township Manager, and is an integral part of the Township’s senior leadership team. The ATM is focused on assisting the Township Manager with overseeing the operations of Township departments, as well as working independently on special projects. Oversight of departmental operations involves complex analytical and project management work in assisting colleagues in resolving management, performance, planning, and process improvement issues.
The ATM will also assist the Township Manager in coordinating the efforts of all departments, boards, and commissions, to promote efficient and effective service delivery to Township residents. The Assistant Township Manager works on Township-wide initiatives including the annual budget and Board of Supervisors initiatives. The ATM is also focused on providing oversight and assistance to the Finance Director regarding the financial management and long-term financial planning aspects of the Township.
This position requires strong collaboration skills and will work in a team environment to identify, recommend, implement, and manage efficient and innovative ways to accomplish the Township’s short- and long-term goals. It also requires the exercise of independent judgement and the application of considerable knowledge of municipal organization and programs, all aspects of public management and/or business management, and financial management.
