You Can Help Stop Elder Abuse

Elder abuse has escalated during the Covid-19 pandemic.  It is a serious crisis as 1 in 6 people 60 years old or older have experienced abuse this year.

Elder abuse is described as any knowing, intentional or negligent act by a caregiver or any other person that causes harm or serious risk of harm to a vulnerable adult.  Whether it's physical/sexual, verbal, emotional, financial or neglect/self-neglect, if you suspect abuse, report it.

The Chester County Department of Aging, along with sponsors and partners, has produced an informative video and brochure detailing the various types of elder abuse, how to report it and resources available.  Visit Elder Abuse Silent No Longer to view the video and Elder Abuse Info and Resources to view the brochure.
