Help Wanted: Asst. Finance Dir., Building Inspector, Building Permits Clerk

Assistant Finance Director - The Township seeks a qualified individual to assist the Finance Director with municipal accounting, financial reporting, treasury, insurance, budget, human resources, payroll and benefit programs.

Opportunity for future growth as qualified individual will assist with directing and administering the Township’s municipal funds, accounting systems, accounting controls, financial forecasting and planning, budgeting and financial reporting, systems development, central accounting, pre and post auditing, internal auditing, investment and grants management, payroll, integrated finance/HR system, revenue collection, risk management, workers compensation, pension administration, investment management, centralized purchasing and contracting.

This position will support Township Manager and Finance Director in union negotiations with three collective bargaining units.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, oral and computer skills a must. Requires a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, public or business administration or a related field and training in governmental accounting, plus a minimum of 3 years of financial governmental management experience with GASB requirements. Supervisory experience a plus. Salary in mid-$60,000 range DOQ, plus excellent benefit package.

Plans Examiner/Building Inspector - A qualified individual to perform plans examination, building inspection and code enforcement activities in accordance with PA UCC compliance & investigate complaints of code violations; will examine plans, calcs, specs for commercial, industrial, residential, public, or other construction activities to ensure compliance with; will perform on-site inspections of commercial and residential construction. Prepares and maintains records of plans, plan reviews, inspections, letters and reports prepared or used in connection with all building permits. Must have considerable knowl of bldg construct. practices & materials. Quals: 2 yrs add'l college level or tech coursework in construction with min of 3 yrs of exp working in building trades or codes enforcement or equiv. combination of educ/exp.; valid driver’s license. Must be certified with the PA UCC as Accessibility Inspector/Plans Examiner, #23 Commercial Plans Examiner for Building, Energy, Mechanical and Plumbing categories, #s 24, 26, 27,28, Commercial Inspector for Building, Energy, Mechanical and Plumbing categories, #s 15, 20, 21, 22.


Building Permits Clerk (Part Time) - A qualified individual to support the Building, Planning and Zoning Departments. The main responsibilities include record keeping, data entry, service counter, phone calls, typing and filing, along with providing general administrative support. May need to carry plans to another floor for filing. Hours: 20-25 per week. Min 2 yrs administrative experience desired, preferably in municipal government or a construction/engineering environment. Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, oral and customer service skills.
