Americans are bombarded with nearly 26 billion robocalls a year, according to YouMail, a third-party call blocking software company. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that two men, who came to Pennsylvania and New Jersey, swindled citizens out of more than $618,000 from January to May. This particular scam involved people believing they were being contacted by the FBI, IRS or Social Security Office with threats of arrest or fines among other things if they don’t send money right away.
