Beware of Robocall Scams

Americans are bombarded with nearly 26 billion robocalls a year, according to YouMail, a third-party call blocking software company.  The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that two men, who came to Pennsylvania and New Jersey, swindled citizens out of more than $618,000 from January to May.  This particular scam involved people believing they were being contacted by the FBI, IRS or Social Security Office with threats of arrest or fines among other things if they don’t send money right away.  Please visit Philadelphia Inquirer  to view the entire article.

For information on how to avoid being a victim of robocall scams, visit FTC Consumer Information.  Share this information with your friends and family, especially those who are older as they are considerably vulnerable to these types of fraud.
