East Whiteland announcing Aqua improvement program work starting January 2, 2020

As part of our continuing infrastructure improvement program, Aqua Pennsylvania will install a new water main on the following road in East Whiteland Township, Chester County. The new 12-inch ductile iron water main will reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water, and improve water flow in the area.

Aqua replaced more than 17 miles of aging main in Chester County to improve service reliability for customers in 2019. Our work will be performed on the following street:

Frazer Road between Sproul (352) and King roads

Construction on the $475,000 project is scheduled to begin Thursday January 2, 2020 with the installation of 2,650 feet of 12-inch ductile iron pipe with completion expected in February. Aqua will have an inspector on the job each day to answer your questions.

Following the installation of the new water main, there will be a period of time during which the main will be chlorinated and tested before being put into service.  Activity on the job site will be limited during this phase. Once testing has been completed, we will transfer each water service and any fire hydrants onto the new main, then make the final connections on the side streets and abandon the old main.  It is important to note that the trench will be covered with temporary black top at the end of each work day.   Permanent restoration will be complete in the spring of 2020.
