Recently Proposed and Adopted Ordinances

The following Development Ordinance Amendments are scheduled for a public hearing by the Board of Supervisors at their regular meeting on August 14,  2019: 

An Ordinance amending the East Whiteland Township Zoning Ordinance to add the definitions of "Medical Clinic" and "Medical Office" and permit the uses in the FC Frontage Commercial District.

An Ordinance amending the East Whiteland Township Zoning Ordinance to add the definition of "In-law suite" and permit In-law suites in residential districts subject to certain criteria 


The following Zoning Ordinance Amendments are currently under review by the Planning Commission: 

An Ordinance amending the East Whiteland Township Subdivision & Land Development Ordinance, Chapter 175, to provide for Comprehensive Changes to Streets and Intersection Requirements, Widths, Design, and Construction Standards, and to Provide for New Sidewalk, Crosswalk, Path, Trail, Bicycle Lane, and Shoulder Requirements, Design, and Construction Standards and Related Definitions.

An Ordinance amending the East Whiteland Township Zoning Ordinance to revise Section 200-90.A. Accessory Uses to Residential Principal Uses.


The following Development Ordinance Amendments were recently approved by the Board of Supervisors:

An Ordinance amending the East Whiteland Township Zoning Ordinance to revise the definition of Assisted Living Facility and allow assisted living facility in the FC Frontage Commercial District subject to certain criteria.

An Ordinance amending the East Whiteland Township Zoning Ordinance to add the definitions of "Brewery" and "Brewpub" and modify the definition of the restaurant and allow "Brewpub" in the FC Frontage Commercial District.

An Ordinance amending the East Whiteland Township Zoning Ordinance to amend the definition of "Family" and add the definitions of "Single Housekeeping Unit" and "Group Home"

An Ordinance amending the East Whiteland Township Zoning Ordinance to clarify that restaurants or other similar establishments with drive-in facilities and banks with drive-in facilities are to be considered under the use classification "Drive-in Facility" in teh table of permitted uses for Mixed Use Districts.

An Ordinance amending the East Whiteland Township Zoning Ordinance to clarify the height of certain ground signs in nonresidential districts.

An Ordinance amending the East Whiteland Township Zoning Ordinance to extend the time period for expiration of Special Exceptions and Variances.
