Boards & Commissions

Volunteers who donate their skills and time to help make East Whiteland Township a great place to live and work are the backbone of the community. More than 55 volunteers provide their talents to the various boards and commissions that make East Whiteland a vibrant community.
  1. Board of Supervisors

    East Whiteland Township is governed by a 3-member Board of Supervisors elected at-large, who each serve 6-year terms that include executive and legislative responsibilities.

  2. Environmental Advisory Council

    The Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) provides advice to the Board of Supervisors and other Township boards and commissions, including, but not limited to, the Planning Commission and the Parks and Recreation Board.

  3. Historical Commission

    The Historical Commission has been instrumental in identifying historic properties and in spearheading efforts to protect the Township’s historic resources.

  4. Open Space & Trails Committee

    The Open Space & Trails Committee was created by the Board of Supervisors to develop a process to help identify potential open-space properties and trails.

    The Planning Commission is a seven-member board appointed by the Board of Supervisors for four-year, staggered terms.

    The Zoning Hearing Board is a five-member appeals board appointed by the Board of Supervisors for staggered, five-year terms.
